This time they’re also bringing along dance performance teams all the way from Atlanta, South Carolina, Huntsville, and Nashville who will be performing while you give your dancing feet a short break. Grab your friends, learn some basic steps, and dance the night away to your favorite Latin music played by the best Latin DJ in the Southeast, DJ Mike Arana. A complimentary dance lesson will be taught at the beginning of the night by local dance instructor and founder of G2G Salsa, Jesse Ramos. Ramos hosts dance socials on the first Friday of every month at his studio on Lee Highway and this month is bringing the party downtown. All community members are invited to a night of dancing in one of Chattanooga’s classiest venues, the recently-remodeled Songbirds South. This event is for people who are passionate about dancing or those that are feeling tropical and adventurous and want to learn some new dance moves. Tree ID Hike

Rising Fawn, GA 30738
Presented By: Rising Fawn Gardens
Location: The hiking trails at Rising Fawn Gardens
Follow Josh McKinley along the trail system at Rising Fawn Gardens during these cooler autumn days while rich, warm colors paint the landscape in burgundy, crimson, and gold. Hike these paths through the woods and around the fields as he explains the characteristics of the canopy and understory.
While we will learn to differentiate trees based on leaves, bark, and other identifying features, this interpretive walk will involve much more than simple nomenclature. Instead, participants will actively engage with different types of wood through physical items crafted from specific trees such as wooden spoons and bowls and bows. These objects will demonstrate the properties of different tree species and handling them will reinforce the learning of information covered.
