Friday Rundown | August 17th
Farm to Cocktails
Tomorrow 5:30 PM
Kaleena works closely and passionately with local farms to develop cocktails that highlight the flavors of the region. During this workshop, Kaleena will teach beginner to intermediate techniques on how to turn local produce that can easily be obtained from local farms (be it farmers markets, CSAs, etc.) into a tasty drink. A lot of these techniques can branch into preservation of the flavors and health benefits of plants (turning things into shrubs or syrups, liqueurs, etc.). During this class, several areas of cocktails will be addressed/demonstrated such as cordials, infusions, syrups, and shrubs.

12th annual family-friendly 'block party' type Back-to-School BASH will be hosted by and held at Harrison United Methodist Church (HUMC). Initially created as a back-to-school celebration for Harrison Elementary the event has grown to include the broader community. While the focus is elementary age school children and their parents, the 'BASH!' is available, accessible and free to all! The purpose is to provide children a time of fun, laughter and play as they simply enjoy 'being children' without worrying about anything else. The event aligns well with the needs (and interests) of the community as it is all about families being together. Highlights include a PETTING ZOO, AGE-APPROPRIATE INFLATABLES, A DUNK TANK, GAMES WITH PRIZES, FACE PAINTING, DOOR PRIZES, HULA HOOPS, FOOTBALL TOSS, ENTERTAINMENT...AND MORE! Also, hotdogs, drinks, chips and dessert will be provided along with sno-cones. And, again, it's FREE* to all who attend. (We invite all who would like to do so, to bring school supplies which will be donated to Harrison Elementary School)
