Buskers Festival
Street performers (aka buskers) will be highlighted. Local street performers will busk throughout the First Tennessee Pavilion while you shop. Guests can expect live music, dancing and other performers such as jugglers, mimes, puppeteers, magicians and more. Every nook and cranny of the market will be a surprise. Admission is free, but tips for the performers are appreciated. As always, produce is available at the market from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Summer FurFest at Humane Society
The Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga will host a 12-hour adoption extravaganza on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at their 212 N. Highland Park Ave. facility. Find your next family member and name-your-own-price. The event includes puppy and kitten cuddles, a dog play group demonstration and door prizes. Check out the available dogs and cats here.

The Comedy Catch Presents Mitch Fatel

Pirates, Parrots, & Princesses Day

Hosted by Chattanooga Zoo

Ahoy matey! Fly over to the zoo and join us for a magical day with pirates, parrots, princes, and princesses at the Chattanooga Zoo! 

Guests will get to meet and get their photos made with all different princesses & pirates, meet and learn about our rezoodent parrots, go on a scavenger hunt, and more! Chat with our keepers and watch our animals enjoy their themed enrichment to learn how you can help keep them "part of your world!" 

Pirates, Parrots, & Princesses Day is regular Zoo admission. Zoo Members are free. All event activities are included with regular zoo admission. Be sure to wear your prince, princess, parrot, or pirate outfit to receive 50% off regular Zoo admission.

 

Ocoee River Jam
Ocoee River Jam is an annual music festival in Ocoee, Tennessee. The family-friendly festival will feature live music from Strung Like a Horse, Barefoot Nellie, Magic Birds, Lenox Hills, Jess Goggans, Dagger Blue and Big Smo. Children 12 and under are admitted free. Weekend passes are $60, and day passes are available. Sunday admission is free to all youth 17 and under.

When: Friday, July 27, 6:30-11 p.m.; Saturday, July 28, 2-11 p.m.; Sunday, July 29, 2-10 p.m.
Where: 599 U.S. Highway 64, Ocoee, Tennessee
How much: $60 for the weekend, $20 daily.

 

Honey Harvest

The 18th annual Honey Harvest, Creative Discovery Museum’s sweetest event, returns Saturday, July 28 and Sunday, July 29 from noon to 4:00 p.m.! The Museum will be buzzing with beekeepers and guests celebrating the work and life of one of nature’s hardest workers – the honey bee.Honey Harvest, the only event of its kind in Chattanooga, is a Museum-wide celebration with regional beekeepers who help guests learn about the importance of honey bees and how honey is made.During the celebration, guests can:• Make their own honey lip balm, beeswax candle and honey soap to take home;• Taste different varieties of honey in Culinary Corner;• And participate in honey extraction and meet beekeepers!

The much anticipated free concert series, Riverfront Nights , returns to Chattanooga on Saturday, July 14. The outdoor musical series is free for all to enjoy, and is even dog-friendly.

Shrek the Musical runs Friday and Saturday nights in July - July 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, and 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door, starting at 6 p.m., on evenings of performances and are $5.00 for children 12 and under and $15.00 for those 13

 

 

Tax Free Weekend

This is the weekend to check off that back-to-school list.

 

Friday, July 27, through Sunday, July 29, is Tennessee Tax-Free Weekend. During those shopping days, no tax is charged on clothing up to $100, school supplies or school art supplies up to $100 and computers up to $1,500.

 

The state's sales tax holiday begins annually at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ends at 11:59 p.m. the following Sunday.

50th Anniversary Bike Parade

Presented By:City of Collegedale Parks and Recreation and Collegedale Police Department

Location: The Commons Pavilion in Collegedale

Decorate a bicycle and ride it in the 50th Anniversary parade. If you can ride a bike, you are welcome to participate. The route will follow the greenway from The Commons to Leyland Drive, around to Swinyar Drive, and into The Commons parking lot. Registration and line-up will begin at 8am.
